Yes — we cover upstate with chefs based in the region, not by driving from Long Island. That is what keeps the travel charge on an Albany, Syracuse, Rochester or Buffalo booking sensible.

How much does a hibachi party upstate cost?

$49.99 per adult for two proteins and $59.99 for three, kids 12 and under at $29.99 and $39.99, with a $500 food minimum before tax and travel. Travel is calculated from your address and shown on the quote before you book.

Which parts of upstate do you cover?

All of it — the Capital Region, Mohawk Valley and Adirondacks, Central New York, the Finger Lakes, Western New York and the North Country. 47 counties in total.

Can you cook at a lake house or rental?

Yes, and lake houses are our busiest upstate booking. Give us the rental address; you do not need to own the property, but check the host allows outdoor cooking.

What months do you cook upstate?

Comfortably April through October. Outside that we need real cover over the grill, and we will tell you if a date is a bad idea rather than take the deposit and hope.

How far in advance should I book?

Three to four weeks in summer, and earlier for Finger Lakes and Lake George weekends in July and August — those fill first.

Is there a travel fee?

Travel is measured from our nearest chef base. Within 10 miles there is no travel fee at all. From 10 to 30 miles it is a flat $30. Beyond 30 miles it is $1 per mile on the total — 31 miles is $31 and 45 miles is $45. The exact figure is calculated from your address and shown on your quote before you book.

No. HOLY HIBACHI is a mobile hibachi catering service, not a restaurant — there is no storefront and no pickup or delivery. A private hibachi chef drives to your address with the grill, the food and the propane, and cooks in front of your guests in your backyard, on a deck, patio, driveway or rooftop.
