Holy Hibachi is a mobile hibachi catering service based in Coram, in the middle of Suffolk County. A chef drives to your address with a portable grill, prepped food and everything needed to cook it, sets up about half an hour before dinner, and cooks in front of your guests.
Because the base is on the Island rather than in the city, Long Island is the shortest drive we make — which keeps travel on the quote low and makes same-week dates possible more often than you would expect.
Where it happens
Most Long Island bookings are backyard hibachi. The chef needs a flat space roughly the size of a parking spot, open to the sky, and somewhere for guests to sit and eat once the cooking is done. Decks, patios, driveways, poolside and rooftop terraces all work.
Indoor hibachi is the one thing we cannot do — a teppanyaki griddle at full heat produces more smoke than a kitchen extractor can take. A garage with the door open or a canopy over the grill is the usual answer when the weather turns, and it is how plenty of October and December parties out here get cooked.

Yes. Our base is in Coram, in the middle of Suffolk, so all of Suffolk is close. Nassau is a straightforward drive west and we cover every town in it, through to Great Neck and the Queens line.
Yes. The grill throws a lot of heat and plenty of Long Island parties run through the autumn and winter. You need cover from rain and snow — a garage with the door open, a carport or a canopy — but the chef cooks outdoors year round.
Technically what you are booking is teppanyaki, cooked on a flat griddle, which is what every hibachi restaurant in the United States serves. Most people call it hibachi, so we do too.
Two to three weeks for a weekend date, and more for the summer and for graduation season in May and June, when Long Island weekends fill first. A $50 deposit locks the date and chef.

Travel is measured from our nearest chef base. Within 10 miles there is no travel fee at all. From 10 to 30 miles it is a flat $30. Beyond 30 miles it is $1 per mile on the total — 31 miles is $31 and 45 miles is $45. The exact figure is calculated from your address and shown on your quote before you book.
